Think About it! Thoughtful Thursdays With the Veggie Babes

Well we sure do a lot of thinking, don't we? Let's take some much deserved time this week and ... not think. What? Not think? That's impossible!!

But is it? What if we give our minds a break every now and then, a break from worry, stress, stuff, beating ourselves up. Let's take a few moments right now and not give a sh*t about anything. Ready? Go!

Didn't finish something? Don't care. Forgot to do something? Oh well. So busy how will you ever get all of this done? Whatever. Think maybe someone doesn't like you or they are talking about you in a negative fashion? None of your business.

Just go through life being kind to yourself and others, take positive action in your life and forget about the rest. Especially when it comes to errands and work type things. Those will be waiting for you tomorrow, and all the other of your tomorrows, so why not focus on the good stuff.

Does this mean all work is done and you can just chill out and never do anything resembling work or errands again? Ok, here is the only bad news in this post; no, not really. What this does mean is: you will not beat yourself up, stress or worry about forgetting to get/do something, running out of time or what someone else may think or say about you, change things that you have no control over, etc.

FREE YOURSELF. IF THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT, FORGET ABOUT IT.

If there is nothing you can do about a situation, why would stressing about it or beating yourself up about it help? It doesn't. Not even a little bit. You are doing yourself a great disservice by worrying or stressing about things that you have no control over.

What if it is a loved one's situation? We understand. Do what you can do to help, and not enable, but remember your worrying and stressing will not help them. Positive action might, but also remember that they are on their own path and you must honour it, regardless whether it is how you would deal with it or have them deal with it.

Other than it being something life threatening for you, we say forget about it! You are also on a journey and are right where you are supposed to be. If you don't like something and can change it, do so, otherwise it is simply none of your business and stressing will not get you anything better.

Right here, right now in this moment none of that stuff matters.

Now, take another moment, just like the last one. Pick one thing that has been bothering you and it's over, nothing can change that outcome in that moment. Now take that thing and honestly do not care that it went down that way. When it comes back, because it was 'important', stop caring about it again. Repeat until it never comes back to haunt you. Go forward and always act with integrity and those things really don't matter. You did your best and nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes, forget things that are important to others and have unfortunate circumstances.

Pretty freeing, isn't it? Our challenge to you this week for Thoughtful Thursday is to see how many of these worries you can dissolve and "think-less" moments you can invite into your life. Once you start recognising the areas where not giving a sh*t doesn't really hurt anything (in fact, it is rather freeing), you can implement it as a value to healthy living.

Does this mean you will walk around not giving a crap about anything? Not really, but sort of. What?? Yes, you will give much care to the things that really matter and at the same time shed the things you have no control over and just cause worry. This will take practice, but once it is a habit it will be second nature.

And just remember, if there is nothing you can do about it, forget about it.

Wonder if something is worth giving a sh*t about? We want to hear from you! Send us your questions to theveggiebabes@gmail.com .

Peas out,
