The Coup? Let's Second That!

If you missed our previous post about the Coup, take a step back, breathe and go to it. You missed out and just need a few minutes to catch up and come on back. It's no big deal.

Ok, ready? Let's begin...

This second work of wonder is very different from the first, the Upstream Burger, so no matter what your taste buds are telling you, The Coup has your back.

This burger is a special guest, a close relative of the Buck Burger, will fill you with the warmth, coziness of an open hearth fire on a crisp autumn evening. The ciabatta bun is fresh from Byblos Bakery and is a perfect blend of springy chewiness with a slightly crisp top.

The patty has the strength of a buck, a hearty mushroom, lentil and buckwheat base packed with secret seasonings that will have you guessing. Are those fennel undertones? Maybe, but the sun dried tomatoes, coriander and tarragon with the meaty texture and taste will soon have you forgetting the guesswork and simply enjoying this exquisite creation. Topped with sunflower sprouts and pumpkin pesto this is a true comfort burger for any one, vegan or not.

Presented with the roasted yam and black bean soup that has a little kick of spice to create that inner glow. You will not be disappointed with this special paring, it is comfort at its finest.

As with all burgers at The Coup, want it gluten free? Order the gluten free option. Vegan, no problem, order Dayia cheese or just have it naked. It's all good.

Why you want this burger:

1. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free - you can have it all.

2. It's healthy, sans bun, but the bun is deadly.

3. The atmosphere of this place is awesome. Cozy with a hint of mid century mod. The quaint patio is right in the action of 17th Ave, the place to be in Calgary.

4. The flavour of this patty is warming, unique and nothing short of delicious.

5. The price reflects the quality; $17.00 and worth every penny.

6. Don't feel like a burger? That's cool. The menu is filled with other amazing dishes to enjoy. Some other amazing looking dishes, that we hope to review for you in the future, include the Iron Board wild rice waffle in sweet or savoury, melon poké for a starter and a little taste of Aloha, the Tempeh Shawarma - finally something other than falafel and the Fonesca aged port 20 year paired with the Chocolate Torte for dessert.
