Meet Sehra Bindal the owner of Veg-In YYC! We were personally invited to her new restaurant to review a variety of her homemade veggie burgers. When we arrived with our photographer KJ from KJ Pictures, we were warmly greeted by Sehra and her staff.
We started with the vegan Lassi, which is a yogurt smoothie (your choice of dairy, soy or

coconut). There are many flavors to suit your palette and we chose to try a mango and rose. They were both refreshing and creamy; a pure delight to the tastebuds.
We spoke with Sehra about her menu and she said that her and her staff work hard to set themselves apart with a unique selection of vegan and vegetarian cuisine. Once you sink your teeth into one of their burgers you will experience this creative explosion first hand and taste the love and dedication that goes into each and every dish.
Whether you’re stopping for lunch or on your way home this quaint grab n’ go spot, located at 215 6 Ave SE, is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a quick and delicious meal in the downtown core.
On our first visit to Veg-In YYC Sehra and her awesome staff created three of their signature burgers for us to try, including the Veg-In Classic, the Millionaire and the Carnival. We will review the Veg-In Classic today but stay tuned for the other two reviews to follow this week.
The Veg-In Classic is a chipotle black bean burger and most like a traditional veggie burger. This came served on a fresh, soft, mouthwatering vegan multigrain bun and topped with melted vegan cheese, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, avocado and special chipotle sauce. This burger was served with crispy curly fries, vegan mayo and honey mustard dip.

Why do you want this burger?
1) It's healthy - Fresh ingredients, lots of veggies and beans. This burger is wholesome and the bun is amazing.
2) Don’t want a side? No problem, a la carte it is. Choose yam fries, regular fries or a side salad. These fries are Lindy Approved, crisp, seasoned to perfection and delish.
3) This is a small grab n’ go cafe so the dining experience is minimal. HOWEVER, the owner and staff will make you feel like you are one of the family from the moment you walk in the door. If grab n' go is what you need, this is the place.
4) The cost of the burger is only $9.00, plus the cost of a side of your choice. This is such a great price and the option of having side or not is something you don’t often see.
So stop in at 215 6 Ave SE, Calgary and check out this awesome little spot!
This burger is one of our favourites yet, Veg-In YYC is a must try! Also, between July 18 - December 31, 2016 for every Lassi sold $1.00 goes to Alice Sanctuary.

Stay tuned for our next two Veg-In YYC blogs on our QUEST FOR THE BEST!
Love,
Rachel & Lindy
